Making Flow Reducers

Time Required
Less than 1 hour for installation
Less than one hour to thermoform and create reducer disk

Materials List
Qty Item Notes
1 ft 2” tube The tube will be flattened, so smaller diameter tubing works, but won't give you as much flat surface for drilling discs
1 can Cooking oil Old tin cans work great, for thermoforming PVC
1 Hacksaw For cutting PVC tube
1 Bucket of water For cooling PVC after thermoforming
2 Wood boards For pressing PVC flat
1 Pliers For handling hot oil, PVC
1 Hand drill with hole saw attachment For drilling into PVC to make discs

  1. Hold disc on end of 1/2” tube at some point near tap.
  2. Glue bell of other piece of 1/2” tube so that the disc is sandwiched between the bell connection and the original 1/2” tube.
