Maintaining Tap Stands

Operating the tap stand is straightforward. Possible maintenance issues could come from the tube breaking inside the post from something knocking against the faucet. Preventative maintenance could involve embedding a metal tube into the concrete during the pour in lieu of the plastic PVC and threaded directly to the faucet. If the plastic tube does break, the tube can be cut, removed, and replaced.

The tap stand could also have issues with erosion along the edges or even underneath the pad. Make sure that there is a slight slope on the pad during construction and that the area around the pad is fairly flat. In addition, having a gravel soak away where the pad drains will help reduce erosion. This soak away can be built after the fact by excavating slightly and replacing soil with a few inches of gravel.
